Tony R. Taylor moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1970. He graduated high school in 1976 and joined the Fort Walton Beach Police Department in 1977 as an Auxiliary Patrolman. Taylor rose through the ranks – holding every rank – to Captain during his career with the FWBPD. Retired, as a Captain, after 35 years of service to the citizens of Fort Walton Beach, he became the Chief of Police in Crestview in 2012. Chief Taylor’s goals for the Crestview Police Department, include accreditation, transparency, and the safety of the public.
Chief Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University and is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy (193rd Session) in Quantico, Virginia.
