Traffic Homicide Arrest Made

The Crestview Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit has made an arrest regarding a traffic fatality that occurred on New Year’s Day at around 7:45 in the morning.

Officers responded to the intersection of North Pearl Street and Jeff Drive to a single vehicle accident. The passenger, 25 year old, Marcos Kenkel of Crestview, was killed after the vehicle left the roadway and struck a brick mail box.

The traffic homicide investigation concluded that the driver, 20 year old, Tiffanie Marie Purvis of Laurel Hill, Florida, was operating the motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .184. The legal limit is .08 in the State of Florida. A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she turned herself in to the Crestview Police Department without incident, this morning shortly after 1:00 a.m.

Tiffanie M. Pruvis was charged with DUI Manslaughter, and DUI with Property Damage. After her arrest, she was transported and delivered into the custody of the Okaloosa County Jail.
